Hey! My name is Hannah and I’m from Flagstaff,Az, but I attend the University of Mobile. Since I was little, I always struggled with who I was and what I wanted to do “when I grew up”. I tried everything, I wanted to be an astronaut, a pop star, a doctor, a vet (all the things little girls wanted when they were young). As I grew older I joined clubs and did different things at school to learn about every occupation. For 2 years I wanted to be a marine biologist. In high school I decided I was pursuing chemical engineering in pharmaceuticals to help people. That was by far the longest dream I had. Then my senior year I decided I wanted to be an athletic trainer so I could help people. About 6 months before I high school ended I decided to tour some SEC schools since The University of Alabama was my dream school and my mom begged me to visit The University of Mobile. I did and instantly fell in love. Over that summer I decided that I could never be an athletic trainer and started to pursue Worship leadership and journalism. I started college and changed my major so many times. I was interested in graphic design, but that wasn’t for me either. During our required freshman seminar class I sat down with the teacher and mentioned that my dad does the worship and most of the tech for my church. This led to me being put in charge of running sound for an ensemble called Sofree. Which then led to me becoming a worship Technologies Major. God showed me a new passion that I never thought I could achieve. I was always told tech jobs like audio engineering and lighting were men’s jobs and to not even try so I didn’t. Now after seeing what God has done and with the support of those around me I know that with God’s will, I will make it far in my field. Never be afraid to try everything until you find what’s right. You may not succeed in finding what your passionate about your first, second, or even tenth time, It took me my entire life to choose a major I didn’t even know existed. Don’t let others tell you what you can’t do. Find your identity in your passion and what you love, but also remember that your identity is not solely based on your career. Your true identity is found in God, he knows all and wants to guide you through life.
